I have been photographing weddings for 25 years, yet I still get excited and feel butterflies in my stomach every time. I wish to tell a story. I want whoever sees my photography to experience the event as if they were there – part of the wedding.
My story has two paths: the practical path – which includes accurately documenting the happenings; who was there and what occurred and the second path, which is the artistic path – the soul. Without the soul the photography is not interesting. The soul is the “spice” of photography.
Without the first path, the practical one, there is no documentation, so the viewer will not get what he wants to see. The key is combining these two paths. This combination is a winner. It tells the story as a whole: a story which includes emotion, sadness, happiness, curiosity, interest, drama, humor, mystery and knowledge. The story of each and every one of the couples I met and will meet.
